Key priority

Understanding how cultural participation varies across generations and the meanings that different communities attribute to culture.

Description

The research explores cultural participation among younger generations (aged 19–34) and older people (65+) in Piedmont and Liguria, with a focus on people with a migrant background. The study involved a questionnaire administered to a representative sample of 1,000 people across different age groups, surveyed via CAWI between May and June 2026. This was complemented by a probability sample of 200 people with a migrant background who had been living in Italy for at least five years, interviewed via CATI.

The research investigates the different meanings attributed to culture in different contexts, the motivations that encourage participation in cultural activities, the barriers that hinder access, and the insights that can help make cultural offerings more accessible and relevant to diverse audiences.
