We contribute to the dynamism of the innovation ecosystem in order to create a favourable environment for generating progress and relaunching local development. We create opportunities for upskilling and we facilitate the spread of a culture of innovation to achieve progress in the safe and sustainable technological transition.
Our work is divided into various areas of intervention.
Boosting innovation

The Boosting Innovation Mission operates under the Planet Goal. We choose to invest in innovation because it plays a key role in the economy: it translates research results into new products and services, with a positive impact on people’s quality of life and work and on the competitiveness of the catchment area.
For FCSP, innovating therefore means empowering public and private bodies, disseminating knowledge and generating social and economic value for people and society as a whole.
Dynamic, inclusive innovation ecosystem
We strive to strengthen North-West Italy’s innovation ecosystem by supporting physical and digital hubs, new approaches by incubators and accelerators, new ways of sourcing and introducing talent, and collaborations with ecosystem builders.
We help the Public Administration test Proofs of Concept (PoCs) that encompass elements of sustainable transformation of the catchment area, thereby contributing to the modernisation of innovation policies and the formulation of replicable action models.
We promote the local ecosystem by creating the best conditions to develop social-impact entrepreneurship, thanks to Torino Social impact.
We foster the ability of innovative start-ups to network and connect to their local ecosystem through two projects with a close focus on the catchment area, namely ToTem in Turin and Nova Connect in Genoa.
In conjunction with the Harnessing the Value of Research Mission, we provide aspiring young entrepreneurs with training and mentoring through the Vento Venture Building project.
To encourage the development of social-impact entrepreneurship, we promote Personae, an acceleration programme designed to offer innovative responses to new phenomena of social vulnerability, with a vertical focus on welfare and empowering technologies.
Secure, sustainable technological transition
We facilitate the technological transition in the third sector and public administration, by supporting a culture of continuous innovation. We provide opportunities for technological upskilling and reskilling, with specific reference to the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the jobs of the future, while maximising the value of the initiatives developed under the Digital Republic Fund by means of Seals of Excellence. We support the programme for innovation and the introduction of emerging technologies, within the framework of Torino Neutral City 2030.
We will therefore continue the call for proposals entitled “Evoluzioni – Transizione digitale nell’economia sociale” (evolutions – digital transition in the social economy), aimed at helping organisations with their strategic planning on the digital transformation of processes, product and service innovation, data-driven organisation and the implementation of new communication and fund-raising models.
Through an innovative public-private partnership model and in collaboration with the People Goal’s Promoting Decent Work Mission, we have helped set up the Digital Republic Fund to strengthen the digital skills needed to accelerate the technological transition, identify effective, sustainable policies capable of delivering measurable progress and help increase job opportunities for young people and women.
Prosperous, competitive social economy
We turn transformational procurement pathways into a tangible reality by supporting projects for competitiveness in the social economy. We support the innovation of products, business models and organisational processes, and we facilitate access to investments and to European and national public financial resources.
We promote and support organisational development through practical projects such as Futuro Aggiunto (future added), an initiative aimed at helping third-sector bodies in North-West Italy gain access to credit, and Linee guida per lo sviluppo organizzativo del Terzo Settore (guidelines for the organisational development of the third sector) formulated on the basis of the experience gained from the Next Generation You call for proposals.
Training and appetite for entrepreneurship
We offer opportunities for the professional and personal development of young people through training courses on entrepreneurship, risk-taking and failure management. We create opportunities to meet and engage with start-ups and businesses, thereby making the most effective use of knowledge, in line with the European approach to micro-credentials for lifelong learning.
We therefore continue to support Collective Projects, which was established to foster synergies between third-sector bodies, start-ups and SMEs by means of an open innovation project. Delivered in collaboration with the
Harnessing the Value of Research Mission, the project involves a team of students who examine the needs of their host organisation and then draw up a strategic development proposal in marketing, fund-raising or business development.
These efforts to develop business skills also include training, exchange and sharing in connection with the Impact Generation project and support for internships focused on research and entrepreneurship relating to the InnoNext project implemented alongside the Harnessing the Value of Research Mission and in collaboration with Fondazione Links – Leading lnnovation & Knowledge for Society within the framework of the European Innovation Council (EIC).
