Compagnia di San Paolo renews its commitment to contemporary art for 2018.

Compagnia di San Paolo renews its commitment in favour of contemporary art for 2018. Thanks to a wide cultural offer it contributes to making Turin and its territory an important national and international showcase for quality and research in contemporary art and culture. In this perspective, Compagnia di San Paolo's commitment to supporting contemporary expressive languages has evolved over the years from a simple supporter to partner and activator of innovative processes for the system of contemporary culture in the city of Turin.

Artissima confirms itself as a leading event in Turin's contemporary art offer and Compagnia renews its support by supporting Artissima digital, the innovation project related to the development of the digital dimension of the fair. The goal of Artissima digital is to form an ecosystem capable of consolidating and affirming the identity of the event, intercepting new audiences and partners by linking the territory's resources with contemporary culture.

The relationship with Club to Club is also renewed; this internationally renowned avant-pop and electronic music festival is now in its 18th edition, confirming the quality, competence and solidity of the association ‘Xplosiva’ and its potential as a cultural enterprise.

In line with the desire to encourage new trends and creative research that embody innovation, support again goes to The Others Art Fair, the main Italian exhibition dedicated to emerging international art that was set up to enhance the new creative energies,  to Paratissima, dedicated to emerging artists and creatives who aren’t part of the official art circuit yet and already known artists who wish to interact in a dynamic environment with an extended social context, and to the Flashback cultural programme, the fair that offers an innovative interpretation of contemporary art both in how selected galleries are set up and in its thought-provoking process set off by its own collateral initiatives.

As in 2017, Compagnia also supports the NEXST, dedicated to research spaces but also to laboratories, temporary areas and project spaces and to local and national independent artistic realities, and the cultural and performance programme DAMA, an independent contemporary art fair that, with international galleries and independent spaces as well as a public programme of performance, will present a selection of artists from different areas of the world with site-specific interventions inside the historic baroque palace Saluzzo Paesana.

Among the projects supported by Compagnia that will take place during the 2018 Contemporary Art Week, this year we add Dreamers, the Independent Fashion Fair that explores independent fashion and research, with an unprecedented path that merges the experiences of exhibition, sale and knowledge , and Faust fest, a festival dedicated to contemporary culture and education that will take place along via della Rocca in the evenings from 1st  to 4th  November.

Careful and committed to supporting the entire contemporary culture system of Turin,  Compagnia also supports the exhibitions in progress at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Fondazione Merz and Camera - Centro Italiano per la Fotografia.

Finally, among the special projects by beneficiaries of Compagnia di San Paolo for the contemporary art week we have "HanaHana ...", an initiative developed by Dear Onlus as part of Robo & Bobo in synergy with Treti Galaxie, which presents from 26th  October to 15th  November the first solo exhibition of the French artist Mélodie Mousset, and the Residency Programme Cripta 747, with the open studio of the workshop "What are we looking at? And who is looking " held by Gernot Wieland.
