We help develop research aimed at furthering scientific knowledge, in line with European planning. We foster excellence in training and harness the value of the knowledge that it spawns, so that the best ideas have a positive economic, social and environmental impact.

Our work is divided into various areas of intervention.

The Harnessing the value of research mission contributes to achieving the following Sustainable Development Goals

SDG 4 – Quality education
SDG 9 Industry, innovation and infrastructure

Research plays an essential role in the sustainable growth of our society. This is the rationale that prompted the formation of the Harnessing the value of research mission, under the Planet Goal, which benefits from the collaboration of Collegio Carlo Alberto, an auxiliary body that supports pioneering research and post-graduate education in social science, through studies in economics, political science, sociology and law.

Support for the development of the university system

We believe it is very important to support the university system, both as a centre of teaching and research, and as a driver of local development. This is why we have developed a range of instruments, such as: the 2019-2021 agreements with the universities, which have enabled us to collaborate with five universities in Piedmont, Liguria and Campania; calls for research proposals; grant-making for the award of scholarships; the development of services for students, and the upgrading of teaching and research infrastructure.

Support for the research system

First and foremost, supporting the research system means working in close partnership with the lines of study promoted at European level. We are therefore committed to developing the competitiveness of the research system within our coverage area, and facilitating the technological transfer of the results to the production system. We thus promote innovation and the creation of extensive cooperation networks, as a driving force for boosting the competitiveness of our region.
