Scholarships

Fellowships promoted by FCSP with the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).

The aim of the Pan European Fellowships is to support capacity building for the benefit of young researchers, in order to boost collaboration between the ECFR, one of FCSP’s strategic partners, and some the bodies it works with at local and national level.

The programme is intended for young researchers and experts in various fields, including:

• research&advocacy;
• network-building;
• events management;
• strategic communication;
• European policy with a focus on foreign and security policy.

Each Fellowship has a duration of 4 months and is divided into 2 phases:

1. A period of 8 weeks at one of the European offices of the ECFR (London, Paris, Berlin or Rome);
2. A period of 8 weeks in Turin, at one of FCSP’s partner institutions.

Throughout the programme, under the supervision of ECFR experts and the host institution in Turin, fellows will conduct a research project falling within the scope of the ECFR’s priority subject areas, which include the Middle East and North Africa, Turkey, the Western Balkans, migration, cyber security and European foreign policy on security and defence.

The Turin School of Development at the International Training Centre of the ILO currently runs 10 Master’s programmes in a varied range of sectors:

• Level I Master’s in “World Heritage and Cultural Projects for Development”,
• Level I Master’s in “Management of Development”,
• Master of Laws in “International Trade Law”,
• Master of Laws in “Intellectual Property”,
• Level I Master’s in “Public Procurement for Sustainable Development”,
• Level I Master’s in “Applied Labour Economics for Development”,
• Level I Master’s in “Occupational, Safety and Health”,
• Level I Master’s in “Industrial and Employment Relations”,
• Level I Master’s in “Patrimonio Mundial y Proyectos Culturales para el Desarrollo” (in Spanish),
• Level I Master’s in “Gouvernance et Management des Marchés Publics en appui au Développement Durable” (in French).

All the courses comprise 3 phases: a distance learning phase, an intensive residential phase in Turin and a final phase in which participants produce a thesis or final project.

The initiative is aimed at promoting scholarships for young researchers with an interest in conducting research work in international relations and geopolitics.

The selected candidates will be operationally involved in the activities of the NATO Defence College Foundation (NDCF), with headquarters in Rome.

These activities, which are of a scientific and organisational nature, will enable them to work in an international environment and deal with issues relating to global security from the point of view of the Atlantic Alliance. There will be a special focus on the strategic policies of our country and on the emergence of new challenges from the world’s southern regions.

Thanks to the support of FCSP, Fondazione Intercultura has instituted 5 full or partial scholarships, for a total value of €75,000, to enable recipients to live and study abroad for one school year. The scholarships are reserved for deserving, low-means students born between 1 July 2003 and 31 August 2006, enrolled in a level II secondary school in Piedmont or the Genoa metropolitan area.
