The purchase of this equipment was made possible by the fourth “Alba dei Campioni” competition, a youth football tournament organised by the Fondazione Vialli e Mauro. Proceeds from the event, together with support from Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, have made a concrete contribution to the work of the cancer research foundation Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro (FPRC), confirming that the blend of sport and solidarity promoted by Fondazione Vialli e Mauro is an effective way to mobilise collective support for scientific research and public health.

“Promoting the widespread adoption of advanced diagnostic technologies means acting at a crucial point in the care pathway, the diagnostic phase, with direct implications for how quickly treatment can begin and for the overall quality of care. Supporting this initiative strengthens the system’s capacity to deliver faster, more accurate responses for cancer patients, improving the efficiency of clinical pathways. This project reflects Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo’s commitment to accessible, high-quality healthcare, with a strong focus on prevention and diagnostic innovation, with the aim of achieving lasting, structural improvements in healthcare services,”

Commented Alberto Anfossi, Secretary General of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo.

The initiative builds on a process launched last year, when the Foundation’s contribution enabled the Institute to acquire innovative equipment for the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

The new equipment allows the Institute to further expand its diagnostic capabilities, extending the use of advanced technologies in the prevention of gastrointestinal disorders.

The new endoscopes, compatible with the Olympus EVIS X1, incorporate advanced imaging systems alongside artificial intelligence–based features. These technologies improve the precision of lesion detection, helping to riduce the risk of missed diagnoses and supporting the earlier identification of disease.

These technological advances translate into tangible benefits for patients, offering faster, more effective diagnostic pathways and access to increasingly minimally invasive treatments. At the same time, the high image quality and user-friendly interface of the equipment enhance the efficiency of clinical procedures, supporting the work of medical teams.

The initiative is part of the “Promoting well-being” mission of the Planet Goal of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and supporting high-impact projects in the local area.

Collaboration between non-profit organisations and centres of excellence such as the IRCCS in Candiolo is proving to be a strategic model for addressing community needs and ensuring more accessible, high-quality healthcare.

Finally, this milestone underscores the value of partnerships between research, institutions and civil society. Initiatives like “Alba dei Campioni” demonstrate how sport can generate resources and concrete opportunities, translating into scientific innovation and meaningful improvements in people’s health.[/vc_column_text][vc_masonry_media_grid css=”” grid_id=”vc_gid:1776926549767-64970b04-a0e4-6″ include=”43509,43511,43513″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”sdg-list-wrap”][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”download-area-wrap mt-0 mb-0″ css=”.vc_custom_1713517610007{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][vc_column el_class=”download-area”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
