The project, which involves theRegina Margherita Children’s Hospital and the Sant’Anna Hospital, is made possible by the crucial support of over 5 million euros provided by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Intesa Sanpaolo, alongside co-financing from ADISCO Sezione Piemonte O.D.V. and Fondazione Medicina a Misura di Donna Onlus.
“Our commitment to the healthcare sector continues in our next Strategic Plan with a clear focus: investing in experimental protocols and the development of multidisciplinary solutions that can evolve into scalable models, ready to be adopted widely, benefiting both healthcare facilities and patients. The project we are presenting today highlights the importance of prioritising this type of intervention if we want to create a broad and lasting impact, turning today’s innovations into tomorrow’s standards. This goal can only be achieved through the essential collaboration between the public and private sectors,”Said the Chair of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, Marco Gilli.
Alberto Anfossi, Secretary General of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, also shared his thoughts on the project:
“The core elements of this initiative: state-of-the-art equipment, the redesign of care pathways and inpatient areas, and advanced training, are all part of a unified vision that integrates research, technology and healthcare. This approach has the potential to serve as a model, multiplying growth opportunities across the entire healthcare ecosystem.”
Through this commitment, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo reaffirms its dedication to supporting healthcare, emphasising the importance of investing in innovative and scalabe solutions that deliver tangible benefits to both healthcare facilities and patients.
For the Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital, the project includes the renovation of the Multi-Specialist Paediatric Day Hospital, aimed at improving accessibility and increasing the number of services provided. The initiative involves expanding the number of beds and examination rooms, as well as introducing innovations such as a negative pressure room. These improvements will help create a safer and more welcoming environment for young patients and their families, transforming paediatric care into a more human and compassionate experience, and enabling a more effective response to each child’s individual needs.
At the Sant’Anna Hospital, the goal is to strengthen the gynaecological surgery hub, positioning it as an international centre of excellence. The acquisition of advanced technologies, including a robotic platform and new equipment for endoscopic surgery and gynaecological ultrasound, will enhance surgical precision and reduce post-operative hospitalisation times. Furthermore, an innovative real-time information-sharing system between operating theatres and training centres will offer new opportunities for the continuous education of healthcare professionals.
This project is a clear example of effective collaboration between public, private and non-profit institutions, working together to create a lasting social impact. Thanks to this initiative, Turin not only enhances healthcare services for women and children but also sets an example for innovation and training in the medical field.
