On 24 October Chair Francesco Profumo met the college students who have benefitted from the support of Compagnia di San Paolo.
On Thursday 24 October 2019, Francesco Profumo – Chair of Compagnia di San Paolo and Associazione di Fondazioni e di Casse di Risparmio Spa visited Collegio del Mondo Unito dell’Adriatico ONLUS where he held a conference for 187 students entitled “Building the Education of the 21st Century”.
The Chair also received a series of students who have recently benefitted from the support of Compagnia di San Paolo:
Italian student Letizia Nada from San Mauro Torinese was given a scholarship by Compagnia di San Paolo.21 students benefitted from the projects in 2018 and 2019 which helped those in particularly fragile circumstances, coming from: Belgium, China, Congo, Egypt, Japan, Guinea, Indonesia, Iraq, Mali, Mexico, Syria, South Sudan and Sudan. Through a specific programme these young people were given the chance to start a new life at the college before the arrival of their fellow students. Some of the 2018 beneficiaries offered to collaborate as volunteers in the 2019 programme to show their gratitude for the previous year’s wonderful experience.
Ibrahim Kondeh from Sierra Leone was selected with the call “Never Alone, per un domani possibile” a joint initiative promoted by 9 foundations including Compagnia di San Paolo in the Italian territory to promote the autonomy and inclusion of young migrants, ensuring their rights as minors are respected and geared at building a new culture of hospitality.
