From 11th September to 26th October 2019 Turin is once more a reference for international choreography.
Torinodanza festival 2019, directed by Anna Cremonini and organised by Teatro Stabile di Torino - Teatro Nazionale with the support of Compagnia di San Paolo, continues to explore the world through the visions and sensibilities of artists, taking a closer look at last year’s pattern and inviting the choreographers who were able to offer up interpretations and thinking points on the essential themes imposed on us by modernity.
Attention to others, meeting new cultures, tending towards new forms of spirituality are some of the themes marking the new edition of Torinodanza.
While the festival is on from 11th September to 26th October 2019, Turin becomes the reference point for international choreography with 2 months of programmed events, 19 titles for 36 performances, 9 different show venues, 7 national premieres, 2 international co-productions, 11 countries involved (Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, China, France, England, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Scotland, Spain), over 200 artists, operators, technicians from around the world.
Torinodanza inaugurates at Teatro Regio on Wednesday 11th September 2019 at 9pm, with SUTRA, considered to be a cult show of the new Millennium, created by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui with monks from the Shaolin Chinese Temple and in collaboration with sculptor Antony Gormley.
The press conference of the festival was on 17th April, attended by Barbara Graffino on behalf of Compagnia di San Paolo.
