The International Book Fair and Compagnia are launching a call on the local territory to offer families, schools, children and teenagers quality experiences and labs inspired by the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development approved by the United Nations.
On Monday 9 December Compagnia di San Paolo and the International Book Fair presented SalTo Diventi, the area dedicated to new generations of Turin’s International Book Fair (14-18 May 2020). The Secretary General Alberto Anfossi took part on behalf of Compagnia di San Paolo.
With a view to help spread the issues pursued by global aims to the wider public, they are launching a Call to territorial subjects working in the field of informal education so as to offer the city, families, schools, children and teenagers quality experiences and labs inspired by the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development approved by the United Nations.
Transform our world: this is what young people from all over the planet are asking not just world leaders but all of us, convinced that the future is today and that it’s time to change policies and habits. This is the same appeal the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has set for 17 goals to be reached by 2030 for a progress model to safeguard nature and man. This vision is deeply shared by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Turin’s International Book Fair andincluded in the wide-reaching project dedicated to children and teenagers. SalTO Diventi is going to be an area to compare visions of the world, a place in which to talk about the future, a think lab that has a new name this year and is bigger, all the better to gather more ideas and ideals.
The subject of SalTo Diventi will be SDGs, which can be grouped in the following broad categories: social challenges (housing and urban regeneration, employment, education, close-knit communities and inclusive territories), cultural ones (the territory’s attractiveness, heritage and citizen participation in culture) and those regarding innovation (higher education, transfer of technology, active networks of European cooperation, prevention in health and sustainable development and environment).
The Book Fair and Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo will make up a programme of activities selected among those proposed by people and organisations offering free labs for the 5 days of the Book Fair (14-18 May 2020).
The targets of the activities are: pre-schools, primary and middle schools (on Thursday, Friday and Monday; families with children aged 3 to 13 (on Saturday and Sunday). Labs last 1 hour.
