Il 5 novembre è stata inaugurata la nuova degenza di Oncoematologia pediatrica dell'ospedale Infantile Regina Margherita della Città della Salute di Torino.
On 5 November, the new pediatric oncohematology ward of the Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital of the City of Health in Turin (run by Professor Franca Fagioli) was inaugurated with single rooms, spaces dedicated to recreational activities (game rooms and spaces for teenagers), to educational activities (nurseries and every type of school) and to parents.
An important result for the Piedmont section of the Adisco Association, chaired by Maria Teresa Lavazza, obtained with the contribution of the Compagnia di San Paolo.
The Pediatric Oncohematology Ward is located on the fifth floor of the Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital and covers an area of about 900 square meters. Located on the same floor as the nearby "Day Hospital" and "Stem Cell Transplant Centre" wards to create a synergistic and homogeneous diagnostic-therapeutic path for the patient, through an aesthetic and at the same time functional continuity between the three departments.
On one side there are the 16 hospital rooms, with their respective bathrooms, and on the other side the services consisting of medical rooms, a secretarial office, tea room, bathrooms and storage rooms. At the end of the corridor, a large games room has been redesigned as a large open-space area for play and leisure, with spaces and furnishings suitable for young patients. Next to it there is a meeting room available to doctors and a study room.
Drawing inspiration from nature, the rooms have been characterized by illustrations of small insects, large butterflies and humans that move together with the natural elements forming a whole.
Secretary General Alberto Anfossi was present at the official opening on behalf of Compagnia di San Paolo.
