€220,000 allocated for improving urban quality in Piedmont and Liguria.
The Compagnia di San Paolo launches the call “Cittadino Albero. Public spaces, green spaces, social spaces” inviting proposals to increase the number of trees and encourage citizens and associations to take care of them.
The foundation has allocated € 220,000 for this project, whose aim is to act on urban spaces, supporting processes for participation and active citizenship in designing and handling green areas.
Initiatives will in fact have to include more than tree-planting, such as actions for the development of local communities, aimed at encouraging citizens to take responsibility for the shared care of the project areas.
Offers are encouraged from public and no profit private institutions proposing projects for urban areas of at least 15,000 inhabitants in Piedmont (but not the City of Turin) and Liguria. Initiatives may regard one or more already existing or new urban green areas for public use between 500 and 20,000 square metres.
Contributions required for each individual project must be between € 10,000 and € 50,000 and must not exceed 75% of the total project costs.
Proposals must be sent by 31st August 2016.
