After presenting its new organisational model in Turin on 24 January, Compagnia di San Paolo also presented it in Genoa.

Turin, 24 January 2020 – Today, Francesco Profumo, President of Compagnia di San Paolo, together with Secretary General Alberto Anfossi, presented the 2020 Planning Guidelines, the reorganisation of the Foundation based on the SDGs model promoted by the United Nations as part of the 2030 Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, and the new brand identity of the Turin-based foundation.

We challenged ourselves on a daily basis, working towards achieving global competitiveness and social sustainability, and creating opportunities for everyone. We have continued along this path, demonstrating through our actions that we have long been contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals,’ explained Francesco Profumo. ‘Since 2017, the Compagnia has been promoting a Foundation model focused on education, with the aim to encourage citizens to become more responsible and to effectively address inequalities. In order to achieve these goals, we started by focusing on three pillars: education, innovation and development. These concepts have evolved and expanded over the years. At the beginning of our journey, our focus was on the local area; today, it is on the community. The concept of education, which is still the starting point of our projects, has been developed, implementing it also in physical spaces. Inspired by the UN agenda, this development has become sustainable. Social, technological and cultural innovation has also become essential when approaching finance, the organisation and the environment. The operating model has evolved with an experimental approach: in this way, we have been able to implement the necessary actions to support ideas. Today, Compagnia di San Paolo promotes modern and sustainable development.

Compagnia di San Paolo has neither changed its mission nor its key strategies,’ said Alberto Anfossi. ‘In 2020, the Compagnia will undergo a modernisation process and its implementation possibilities will be expanded in line with present-day needs and the current scenario, on both a local and global level. We are not afraid to admit that the challenge of sustainable development is demanding for everyone involved, and certainly for us too. However, we are confident that by adhering to the Sustainable Development Goals model, and through its work, the Company will make an even more effective, transparent and shared impact on people and in the areas in which it operates.

Compagnia di San Paolo is the first Foundation in Italy to have adopted a new organisational model based on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a document promoted by the United Nations, which provides a list of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Achieving these goals should secure a future for society and the world we live in, promoting sustainable development for our planet and humanity.
