Compagnia di San Paolo launches two calls dedicated to audience engagement

€650,000 for the Open Lab and Open Community calls dedicated to new ways to actively engage the audience.

Turin, 13th March 2018 - Compagnia di San Paolo launches Open Community and Open Lab calls aimed at encouraging the development of Audience Engagement. To this end, the Turinese foundation has decided to allocate € 500,000 for the Open Community call and € 150,000 for Open Lab respectively.

“Since 2015, Compagnia has been working within the Cultural Innovation Department in a structured manner on the development of cultural demand with a set of actions grouped under the "Open" initiative.  In 2018 the Open call intends to take a further step by focusing on the community "- said Francesco Profumo, Chair of Compagnia di San Paolo -" on the one hand the communities involved in the projects, on the other the professional community of those working in the cultural sector of Audience Development, which is becoming more clearly defined”.

The Open Community call is aimed at projects entirely focused on Audience Engagement processes, which will have to be carried out in the Italian Northwest (Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d'Aosta) and presented online by 31st  May 2018. A key element of the call is the importance of the project manager, an absolute professional in Audience Development. Furthermore, Compagnia di San Paolo's attention is particularly focused on the ability to implement sustainable and lasting change, making the communities protagonists and autonomous in carrying out the process of Audience Engagement.

With the Open Lab call, Compagnia  is looking for new models to support the expansion and diversification of cultural demand by experimenting with forms of active engagement of the audience in order to encourage the dissemination of services and cultural practices on the territory. As for Open Community, projects must be entirely focused on Audience Engagement actions and must be submitted online by 30th April, 2018.

The list of initiatives eligible for funding will be made public by Compagnia di San Paolo by 31st July 2018 for Open Lab and by 31st December, 2018 for Open Community.
