Call for Projects: Artificial Intelligence, man and society

It is a call for projects bringing innovative solutions in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT) in the fields of education and training, industry, art and culture.

The Compagnia di San Paolo promotes the Artificial Intelligence, man and society call for projects aimed at supporting innovative research projects with a view to advancing scientific knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence and with a tangible economic and social impact on the area.

The rapid growth of technologies and solutions based on Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning (AI), of the Internet of Things (IoT) and of related data enhancement methods are an opportunity for man and society. In fact, they promise to make profound changes in the way we work, learn, manage economic and cultural activities, and in personal and social relationships.

The call is aimed at investigating these opportunities in three areas of special interest to the Foundation and the area:

• education and training

• industry

• art and culture

The projects will have to be able to develop analyses and test innovative solutions in the local area, integrate and meet needs, data/competencies of the three areas mentioned above while promoting collaboration between universities, research institutions, companies and the third sector.

These are the deadlines for the call:

15 March 2020: deadline for submitting the Expression of Interest

29 May 2020: deadline for submitting applications

30 November 2020: publication of the results of the call

The total available funds for this Call for Projects are €3,000,000.

Three partnerships will be selected, one for each theme (Education and Training, Industry, Art and Culture). Each partnership will be assigned an amount of up to €1,000,000.

The call is part of the Mission Enhancing Research of the Planet Goal.
