Bernardo Strozzi (1582/1644). The seduction of colour

Bernardo Strozzi (1582/1644). The seduction of colour

From 11 October 2019 to 12 January 2020 in Genoa (Palazzo Nicolosio Lomellino) a selection of some 40 paintings ( 7 of which newly displayed).

The exhibition Bernardo Strozzi (1582/1644). The  seduction of colour was inaugurated on 10 October in Genoa.

In the five rooms of the first floor of Palazzo Nicolosio Lomellino, the exhibition – which boasts around fifty artworks, twenty of which have never been displayed and seven are absolute novelties -  traces the master’s main artistic moments, aimed at showing the public the best of his works and the most fascinating aspects of his singular contribution to the history of 17th century Genoese painting. Through his pious paintings, altarpieces, portraits and still lifes we get to the heart of the exhibition, the central room of the elegant first floor that houses the fresco-masterpiece, where our attention is captured by the idea of space.

The exhibition also offers an itinerary of the places where Strozzi’s works are present (Palazzo San Giorgio, Museo dell’Accademia Ligustica,  Musei di Strada Nuova) labs, study and conversation days.

The exhibition is on until 12 January 2020.

Roberto Timossi was present at the inauguration on behalf of Compagnia di San Paolo.
