el_class=&#8221;page-content&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; el_class=&#8221;text&#8221;]A new <strong>Complex Outpatient Surgery Centre<\/strong> was inaugurated this morning at the <strong>Cottolengo Hospital<\/strong> to provide a dedicated facility for highly specialised outpatient procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Located on the hospital\u2019s first floor, <strong>the new unit<\/strong> has been created with the support of <strong>Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo<\/strong> and in collaboration with the <strong>Piedmont Region<\/strong>, the <strong>City<\/strong> <strong>of Turin<\/strong> and <strong>the City of Turin Local Health Authority<\/strong>. It features<strong> two operating theatres equipped with state-of-the-art technologies<\/strong>, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and patient comfort.<\/p>\n<p>The opening of the Centre, held on the occasion <strong>of the 34th World Day of the Sick<\/strong>, marks an important milestone in the hospital\u2019s reorganisation and modernisation plan for 2025\u20132030.<\/p>\n<p>The morning was devoted to a conference on <strong> inequalities and mental health <\/strong>, which opened with a keynote address given by professor <strong>Alberto Siracusano<\/strong>, President of the Consiglio Superiore di Sanit\u00e0. Among those in attendance were Regional Councillor <strong>Federico Riboldi<\/strong>, the Local Health Authority Director <strong>Carlo Picco<\/strong> and <strong>Father Paolo Fini<\/strong>. They were welcomed by the facility\u2019s leadership team: <strong>Father Carmine Arice <\/strong>and <strong>Gian Paolo Zanetta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The new unit will focus primarily on <strong>ophthalmology<\/strong>, <strong>orthopaedics<\/strong> and <strong>minor<\/strong> <strong>surgery<\/strong>, helping <strong>reduce waiting lists <\/strong>and <strong>enhance the overall patient experience<\/strong>. Patients will be able to return home on the same day as their procedure.<\/p>\n<p>Support for the new <strong>Complex Outpatient Surgery<\/strong> unit forms part of the <strong>strategy <\/strong>defined<strong> under the Foundation\u2019s <\/strong> Planet Objective, within its <strong>Promoting Well-Being<\/strong> Mission, which aims to <strong>strengthen the accessibility<\/strong>, <strong>efficiency<\/strong> and <strong>quality<\/strong> <strong>of healthcare services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>By fostering innovative organisational models and encouraging the adoption of advanced technologies, <strong>the Turin-based philanthropic organisation is promoting the evolution of a healthcare system<\/strong> that is <strong>increasingly effective and centred <\/strong> on people\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<p>The project at Cottolengo Hospital helps <strong>consolidate an integrated approach to healthcare<\/strong>, combining <strong>high <\/strong> <strong>clinical quality<\/strong> standards with a strong <strong>focus<\/strong> on <strong>prevention<\/strong> and <strong>sustainability<\/strong> in the medium- to long-term.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo reaffirms its commitment to <strong>creating value for communities<\/strong>, <strong>reducing inequalities in access to care <\/strong>and strengthening collaboration among institutions, non-profit organisations and local communities, in line with its <strong> priorities for the 2025-2028 four-year period<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> inauguration <\/strong>of the new Centre marks <strong>one of the first milestones in Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo\u2019s 2026 programme<\/strong>, translating into action the priorities identified in the areas of <strong>health<\/strong> and care.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> healthcare guidelines<\/strong>, together with <strong>planned initiatives in other strategic areas connected to the Culture<\/strong>, <strong>People<\/strong> and <strong>Planet<\/strong> Goals, will be presented in greater detail on <strong>20 February<\/strong> during the <strong>online event launching the 2026 Annual Programming Document<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The event will open with remarks by the <strong>Chair Marco Gilli<\/strong> and <strong>Secretary General Alberto Anfossi<\/strong>, followed by presentations from the Goal Managers \u2014 <strong>Matteo Bagnasco<\/strong> (Culture), <strong>Marzia Sica<\/strong> (People) and <strong>Paolo Mulassano <\/strong>(Planet) \u2014 who will outline the year\u2019s priorities, tools and operational strategies.<\/p>\n<p>The webinar will provide an <strong>operational overview <\/strong>of the <strong>strategic priorities and tools <\/strong>through which Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo aims to strengthen its &#8220;<strong>pact with the local community<\/strong>&#8220;, enhancing the planning capacity of local organisations to address future challenges in a comprehensive and coordinated way.<\/p>\n<p>Registration is required to attend.
