el_class=&#8221;page-content&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;text&#8221;]<strong>Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo,<\/strong> has chosen to use the <strong>language of cinema<\/strong> for the first time to communicate its values.<\/p>\n<p>Shown in cinemas across Italy since <strong>15 May<\/strong>, the new short film entitled Domino, <strong>directed by Giorgio Ferrero<\/strong> and produced with the multidisciplinary creative studio <strong>MYBOSSWAS<\/strong> is now <strong>also available on the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo website<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Set in some of the most symbolic places in Turin, the film intends to make people understand how everyday <strong>loneliness<\/strong> can \u201centrap\u201d people&#8217;s souls, while a simple gesture can <strong>break those chains <\/strong> that keep us caged.<\/p>\n<p>The musical short uses the universal language of the body to illustrate the beauty and difficulty of helping others in a game of positive actions and reactions. As in a reverse game of domino, the bodies rise up and come back to life, driven by an enthralling energy.<\/p>\n<p>Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, which has always been one of the symbols of innovation in Italian culture and society, shared Ferrero&#8217;s vision entirely. This allowed the director to create <strong>a story that went beyond the standards of<\/strong> <strong>traditional communication<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A film that intends to express a universal message<\/strong> not only through its choreographies, but also thanks to careful editing of the shots and the use of architecture that is in constant dialogue with the bodies, urging us to reflect on the importance of values such as <strong>empathy<\/strong>, <strong>freedom<\/strong> and <strong>unity<\/strong>, often <strong>forgotten<\/strong> <strong>in<\/strong> strong&gt; <strong>everyday life<\/strong> but <strong>necessary<\/strong> to <strong>avoid<\/strong> &#8220;<strong>getting lost<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>The star of the short film is Russian dancer <strong>Masha<\/strong> <strong>Shemuranova<\/strong>, who has returned to working with the Turin-born director after the film <strong>Happy<\/strong> <strong>Birthday<\/strong> (2022), which closed the latest <strong>SIC<\/strong> \u2013 International Critics&#8217; Week at the Venice Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The symphony of bodies and geometries seen in Domino was also possible thanks to the collaboration with the <strong>Egri Bianco Danza di Torino<\/strong> corps de ballet (directed by Susanna Egri and Raphael Bianco) and the music composed by Ferrero himself and performed among others by the prestigious <strong>Architorti<\/strong> quintet, which has previously worked with the musical group <strong>Subsonica<\/strong> and composed the music for various works by the master of English cinema Peter Greenaway.<\/p>\n<p>The short film <strong>is scheduled to be shown simultaneously, starting on 15 May<\/strong>, in the cinema halls of <strong>a growing number of Italian cities<\/strong>, including Turin, where collaboration with the <strong>Cinema Museum<\/strong> is very strong.<\/p>\n<p>The other cities where the film will be shown are:<br \/>\n<strong>Milan<\/strong> (Cinema Palestrina), <strong>Bergamo<\/strong> (Auditorium), <strong>Bologna<\/strong> (Cinema Orione), <strong>Rovigo<\/strong> (Cinema Duomo), <strong>Florence<\/strong> (Cinema La Compagnia), <strong>Perugia<\/strong> (Cinema Postmodernissimo), <strong>Rome<\/strong> (Spazio Scena), <strong>Naples<\/strong> (Cinema Vittoria), <strong>Salerno<\/strong> (Cinema Fatima), <strong>Bari<\/strong> (AncheCinema), <strong>Catania<\/strong> (Cinema King).<\/p>\n<p>Production of the <strong>short film<\/strong> also benefited from <strong>significant<\/strong> <strong>support<\/strong> provided by the <strong>Piedmont<\/strong> <strong>Region<\/strong> and many <strong>ANEC and<\/strong> <strong>ACECE<\/strong> <strong>cinemas<\/strong>, as well as the <strong>Film<\/strong> <strong>Commission<\/strong> <strong>Torino<\/strong> <strong>Piemonte<\/strong>, <strong>AGIS<\/strong>, <strong>AIACE<\/strong> and <strong>Torino<\/strong> <strong>Danza<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Domino will also be presented during the next <strong>Torinodanza Festival 2023<\/strong> which will take place from 14 September to 21 October next.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-3IHanW0UBY&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;sdg-list-wrap&#8221;][vc_column][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row disable_element=&#8221;yes&#8221;
