Work is a not only vital to the economy, it is also vital to personal well-being, dignity, citizenship and social inclusion. Young people, work skills and transition to adult life<\/h3>\n

In Italy, equipping young people<\/strong>\u00a0to take part in and contribute to economic, political<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0social life<\/strong>\u00a0is an important priority. Finding a steady job offering economic independence plays an essential role in empowering young people<\/strong> and facilitating their transition to adult life. We are therefore committed to defending and boosting people\u2019s competitiveness, especially in relation to the emerging generations, against a constantly changing backdrop, where\u00a0modern production processes<\/strong>, new\u00a0technologies<\/strong>, artificial intelligence<\/strong>\u00a0 and\u00a0 robotics<\/strong>\u00a0require ever\u00a0higher\u00a0levels of\u00a0knowledge<\/strong>\u00a0and \u00a0constant updating of<\/strong>\u00a0existing formal and non-formal skills.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content_no_spaces” el_class=”txt-img txt-sx row”][vc_column width=”5\/12″ offset=”vc_col-sm-offset-1 vc_col-xs-offset-1 vc_col-xs-10″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”txt-img”]\n

We work on these priorities alongside the Educating for Collective Development Mission<\/a> <\/strong> within the framework of Citt\u00e0 dell\u2019Educazione<\/a><\/strong> (education city), an initiative that views education, the school system and various other educational agencies, as the main lever for Italy\u2019s long-term growth and transformation<\/strong>.

Combating economic, social and occupational vulnerability<\/h3>\n

Despite improvements in certain labour market indicators, the share of the population at risk of poverty and social exclusion remains high. We need to help vulnerable people gain access to high-quality education, training and employment opportunities and promote flexible, adaptable guidance pathways, by offering integrated responses to people\u2019s needs, both in terms of policies for employability and employment and in the social arena (empowerment, combating housing difficulties, strengthening real-life social networks and access to services).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content_no_spaces” el_class=”txt-img txt-sx row”][vc_column width=”5\/12″ offset=”vc_col-sm-offset-1 vc_col-xs-offset-1 vc_col-xs-10″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”text mb-0″]For over 20 years, we have been involved in interventions aimed at providing training and employment opportunities for people in prison or on probation. The\u00a0LEI \u2013 Lavoro\u00a0project<\/a><\/strong>, aimed enhancing the employability of women serving custodial sentences at the \u201cLorusso e Cutugno\u201d prison in Turin is an example of this. An initiative aimed at promoting the employment-related inclusion of people serving custodial sentences at the \u201cMarassi\u201d prison in Genoa will also come into operation in the near future.<\/p>\n

In conjunction with the\u00a0Working Together for Inclusion Mission<\/a><\/strong>, we support\u00a0people from migrant backgrounds<\/strong>, to facilitate their full, active participation in the new social and production fabric.

Female employment, strategic alliances and fair participation in the labour market<\/h3>\n

Employment<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the areas in which gender gaps<\/strong>\u00a0 are most visible. Women very often face greater difficulty in getting jobs and being appointed to prestigious roles with high levels of responsibility. Partly as a result of stereotypes<\/strong> regarding family-related and caring duties, they are more often economically inactive, underemployed and obliged to work fewer hours to make room for domestic tasks. Italy ranks among the countries with the highest differences between male and female employment rates.
