el_class=&#8221;page-content&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;text&#8221;]<i>Torino, 3 July 2020<\/i>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The sale was completed today of the <b>MOI buildings<\/b>, forming the former Olympic Village in Borgo Filadelfia, from the Citt\u00e0 di Torino Fund, managed by Prelios SGR, to <b>Fondo Abitare Sostenibile Piemonte<\/b> (<b>FASP<\/b>), managed by <b>InvestiRE SGR<\/b> and supported by <b>FIA (Gruppo Cassa Depositi e Prestiti)<\/b>, <b>Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo<\/b>, <b>Fondazione CRT<\/b> \u2013 through the Fondo Social &amp; Human Purpose, Section A, managed by <b>REAM SGR <\/b>\u2013 and other Piedmontese foundations of banking origin.<\/p>\n<p>Following the <b>final release<\/b> of the buildings last summer, after a long period of occupation, resulting from an innovative programme to guide and support the former inhabitants of the buildings in finding independent employment and housing, coordinated by the <b>City of Turin<\/b> with the <b>Prefecture<\/b>, the <b>Piedmont<\/b> <b>Region<\/b>, Fondazione <b>Compagnia di San Paolo<\/b> and the <b>Diocese<\/b>, the former Olympic Village will be completely redeveloped to become a <b>social housing<\/b> complex with over <b>400 beds<\/b> providing <b>temporary accommodation<\/b> at <b>special rates <\/b> for students, young workers, <i>city users<\/i>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Once fully operational, it will be managed by <b>Camplus, <\/b>Italy\u2019s first <i>co-living provider and university student housing provider<\/i>, with 10,000 beds, including 2,000 in Turin from the next academic year.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The urban and social redevelopment of the buildings on Via Giordano Bruno looks beyond the COVID-19 emergency and aims to achieve a new objective: <b>to offer modern and affordable housing, <\/b>including a range of personal services, for Turin &#8211; a university city with a strong cultural vocation that continues to implement many exciting projects thanks to a variety of initiatives. Many of these initiatives \u2013 from Ivrea 24 to Campus Sanpaolo, Cascina Fossata to Luoghi Comuni Porta Palazzo e San Salvario \u2013 have arisen as part of a <b>social housing system<\/b> promoted by <b>Turin\u2019s foudations of banking origin<\/b> \u2013 <b>Fondazione<\/b> <b>Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione CRT<\/b> \u2013 and by <b>FIA (Fondo Investimenti per l\u2019Abitare)<\/b>, which is managed by <b>Gruppo CDP<\/b> <b>, its main investor<\/b>, together with MIT and the leading banking, insurance and social security institutions.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Institutions which \u2013 together and within the framework of strong collaboration and synergy with the housing policies of the municipal authorities \u2013 have <b>invested resources<\/b> of over <b>200<\/b> million euros, in Turin alone, to create <b>1200<\/b> <b>social housing units<\/b> and <b>1350<\/b> <b>beds in student and temporary residences<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Statement by the <b>Mayor of Turin Chiara Appendino<\/b>: \u201c<i>With the transfer of ownership of the seven buildings in the former MOI area to the Fondo Abitare Sostenibile Piemonte, the support of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and of the foundations of banking origin, and as a result of the project that provides for them to be used for social housing and personal services, the neighbourhood and its inhabitants will definitively regain ownership of these areas which have for too long been abandoned and become the scene of the largest illegal occupation in Europe<\/i><i>.
