The goal is to support the growth of startups emerging from research labs focused on the aerospace sector. With this funding, Galaxia has successfully closed its fundraising round, bringing the total to \u20ac30 million.<\/p>\n<p>Galaxia plans to invest across various areas of aerospace applications, from upstream solutions such as thrusters, rockets, satellites, sub-orbital spacecraft, telemetry systems, and mission control technologies, to downstream solutions like remote sensing for Earth observation, satellite communications, navigation technologies and specialised satellite navigation systems. The initiative also focuses on enabling technologies and the transfer of key technologies between space and Earth (both spin-outs and spin-ins).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Obloo Ventures, Galaxia is supported by the Polytechnic of Turin and Sapienza University of Rome as scientific promoters, along with other top Italian universities, including the University of Padua and the Polytechnic of Bari. The European Space Agency (ESA) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI) also play a key role as Technical Advisors.<\/p>\n<p>To date, the Cluster has successfully completed 16 proof-of-concept projects and made 16 seed investments, totalling around \u20ac18 million.<\/p>\n<p>Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, a company within the Intesa Sanpaolo Group dedicated to fostering innovation and overseeing Neva SGR, is a Partner in Galaxia. It provides expertise, resources and its extensive network to support the identification and growth of promising start-ups. Through its involvement, Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center offers these start-ups tailored growth opportunities, access to international networks, valuable market insights and connections with the Group&#8217;s aerospace sector clients.<\/p>\n<p>Aerospace is a key driver of development for Turin, thanks to its strong academic and industrial foundations. These are supported by a variety of institutional initiatives, conferences, start-up acceleration programmes and sector-specific projects funded within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).
