el_class=&#8221;page-content&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;text&#8221;]<em>Genoa\/Turin, 21 December 2023<\/em> \u2013 The mayor of Genoa, <strong>Marco Bucci<\/strong>, and the chair of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, <strong>Francesco Profumo<\/strong>, have signed the Framework Protocol 2024-2027 to implement programmes intended to strengthen and ensure the sustainability of processes and projects in the \u2018Culture\u2019, \u2018People\u2019 and \u2018Planet\u2019 sectors of the Genoa area.<\/p>\n<p>The overall amount made available by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo is 28 million euros, including a &#8220;basic quota&#8221; of 20 million and a &#8220;strategic quota\u201d of up to 2 million euros per calendar year, intended for a selected number of projects co-designed by the two partners, focused on the digital and ecological transition and related to themes connected with innovation. The purpose of the \u201cstrategic quota\u201d is to improve the sustainability, autonomy and innovation of entities and processes of direct interest to the Municipality of Genoa.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>The renewal of the collaboration with Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo is great news for Genoa \u2013 <\/em>said the mayor of Genoa<strong> Marco Bucci <\/strong><em>&#8211; Culture, people and planet are the three strategic lines on which we will invest in the coming years to ensure that Genoa can attract an increasing number of tourists and offer a high quality of life to citizens, while keeping an attentive eye on the environmental issue. The constant presence of Compagnia di San Paolo at our side makes us extremely proud and encourages us to roll up our sleeves for the future of our Genoa. We previously signed similar agreements, the first in the two-year period 2019-2020, the second in the three-year period 2021-2023, also intended to perform experiments in the field of social, educational, cultural and innovation development in this area, as well as to improve the operating processes of the institutions<\/em> \u2013 said <strong>Francesco Profumo<\/strong>, chair of the Turin-based foundation \u2013 \u201c<em>We are extremely pleased with the results and are therefore continuing in this direction. We shall promote and enhance key processes for the Municipality, which will invest in the &#8220;Culture, People and Planet&#8221; sectors, aligned with our multi-year programme and the United Nations 2030 Agenda. We shall also promote initiatives focused on the digital, ecological, social transition that relate to innovation<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The four-year term of the agreement will allow a medium-term plan to be devised for work that is important for the future of our city \u2013 <\/em>said the deputy mayor and councillor in charge the budget for the Municipality of Genoa<strong> Pietro Piciocchi<\/strong><em> \u2013 in recent years, thanks to the support of Fondazione Compagnia of San Paolo, we have carried out projects of cultural value, such as the work on Palazzo Bianco and Palazzo Rosso, and social projects such as the Quartiere house in Val Polcevera, and initiated actions involving innovation and digitalisation focused on the future of our new generations. The agreement approved by the city council, which we will formalise in the next few days, will allow us to continue to work in synergy on strategic projects for the city, starting from the Idea Factory which will be built within the Levante Waterfront to provide support to young people who will be able to develop their talents and know-how<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Through the Framework Protocol, FCSP and the Municipality of Genoa will support the following amongst others:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Key interventions based on strategic sharing and co-designed by the Parties based on positive experiences already gained by Compagnia di San Paolo;<\/li>\n<li>Interventions to support Genoese cultural organisations, including: Palazzo Ducale Fondazione per la Cultura, Teatro Nazionale, Fondazione Luzzati \u2013 Teatro della Tosse, GOG, Associazione Festival della Scienza;<\/li>\n<li>Interventions focused on the digital transition, the ecological transition (with particular reference to &#8220;Genova C-City&#8221; and the &#8220;Genova 2030 twinning programme&#8221;, the social transition, or concerning innovation (with particular reference to the &#8220;Genova Blue District&#8221; project and its evolution, and to the \u201cLevante WaterFront Factory of Ideas\u201d project) as well as on new administrative and managerial skills.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Also mentioned in the Framework Protocol is the multi-year &#8220;Citt\u00e0 dell\u2019Educazione\u201d programme promoted by FCSP, which establishes the city of Genoa as one of the leading centres for the implementation of initiatives associated with the EU-Mission promoted by the European Commission &#8220;100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030\u201d programme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The previous Framework Protocols<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first Framework Protocol signed between the two bodies dates back to 2019. It had a two-year duration and its aim was to stimulate strategic projects for the city of Genoa, to be achieved in two ways: Improving the attractiveness of Genoa (through actions to support cultural activities and tourist attractions) and making Genoa more supportive (through actions to support employment, reduce social marginalisation and situations of emergency). In financial terms, the available resources were capped at 13.380 million euros.<\/p>\n<p>The second Framework Protocol was signed in 2021 and drawn up in accordance with the 2021-2024 Multiannual Programming Document of Compagnia di San Paolo and its references to the Next Generation EU Plan and the NRRP.
