Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

Food is a crucial issue for sustainability. The choice of what to grow, produce and eat is very important for the whole food supply chain because it affects people’s health and environmental protection.
Climate change has focused attention on food sustainability: loss of biodiversity and the increase in extreme weather events can be linked to a different approach to food.

A profound change in the agricultural and food system as a whole would allow 795 million people currently suffering from hunger to be fed while coping with the growth of the world population, which is expected to increase by 2 billion people by 2050.

The predominant contributor to the achievement of SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) 2 is Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo’s People Goal.
