Goal 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.

Protecting forests plays a key part in combating climate change and protecting biodiversity. We are in fact facing a serious challenge, given that thirteen million hectares of forest are lost every year, worsening desertification and the living conditions of many people.

We need to work on achieving this Sustainable Development Goal in order to protect around 1,6 billion people around the world whose livelihoods depend on forests.

The predominant contributors to the achievement of SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) 15 are Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo’s Culture Goal and Planet Goal.
