Once again in this edition of the Report, Turin emerges as a rapidly growing ecosystem, with a 122% increase in its Ecosystem Value. The Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center and Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, in synergy with Startup Genome, have again joined forces to boost the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center have worked with Startup Genome to track the development and progress of Turin’s startup ecosystem. The partnership allowed for an in-depth analysis of the ecosystem’s dynamics, highlighting an accelerating development trend.

Presented on 10th June in the context of London Tech Week, the GESR 2024 examines over 4.5 million companies across more than 300 innovation ecosystems worldwide. The Report offers a detailed analysis and overview of current startup trends, ranking the top 40 global and emerging ecosystems and providing a precise regional classification.

In this context, Turin has stood out, advancing by more than 20 positions and earning a place in the top 100 emerging ecosystems worldwide, reaching a significant milestone in its growth and innovation journey.

The Global Startup Ecosystem Report in fact reveals that the Turin ecosystem generated a value of 2.9 billion dollars over a period of eighteen months, achieving an annual growth of 122%.

Positioned among the Top 40 European ecosystems for Performance and Funding, Turin stands out for the size and performance of its technology startups, as well as for innovation and early-state investor activity.

The Artificial Intelligence, Big Data & Analytics, Smart Cities and Spacetech sectors were particularly highlighted for their density of talent and supporting resources. Furthermore, initiatives such as Techstars Transformative World Torino, ESCP Business School’s Blue Factory, Torino Tech Map and CTE Next have been recognised as key factors that make the Turin ecosystem an ideal place for startups to grow and prosper.
