For the four-year period 2024-2027, the total amount made available by the Turin-based charitable institution for cultural, social, environmental and research processes and projects is 28 million euros.

The Chair of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, Francesco Profumo, and the Mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci, have signed the Framework Protocol 2024-2027 for the implementation of programmes aimed at strengthening and ensuring the sustainability of processes and projects in the ‘Culture’, ‘People’ and ‘Planet’ sectors of the Municipality of Genoa area.

“With today’s signing, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo has confirmed and renewed its commitment to the city of Genoa. We previously signed similar agreements, the first in the two-year period 2019-2020, the second in the three-year period 2021-2023, also intended to perform experiments in the field of social, educational, cultural and innovation development in this area, as well as to improve the operating processes of the institutions – said Francesco Profumo, chair of the Turin-based foundation – “We are extremely pleased with the results and are therefore continuing in this direction. We shall promote and enhance key processes for the Municipality, which will invest in the “Culture, People and Planet” sectors, aligned with our multi-year programme and the United Nations 2030 Agenda. We shall also promote initiatives focused on the digital, ecological, social transition that relate to innovation”. 

Confirming its focus on the City of Genoa and its full development, while ensuring cultural, social and environmental sustainability, over the next four years, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo has committed to set aside a total of 28 million euros. This money will be used to implement various kinds of projects, including work to support Genoese cultural institutions, work focused on the digital, ecological and social transition or relating toinnovation.

Of particular significance will be the development of the “Genova Blue District” project and the “WaterFront di levante, Fabbrica delle Idee” area.

The various projects being implemented include strategic ones co-designed by the two Parties and based on the positive experiences already gained by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo.

Also mentioned in the Framework Protocol is the multi-annual “le Città dell’Educazione” programme – promoted the the Turin-based foundation, which establishes the city of Genoa as one of the primary places for the implementation of initiatives associated with the EU-Mission promoted by the European Commission100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030”.

From 2019 to date, FCSP’s commitment to the city of Genoa has included the disbursement of over 62 million euros through the signing of the first Framework Protocol. An important action intended to have a long-term impact resulting from strategic projects for the city.
