We facilitate processes of systemic change in the health system, including by encouraging a rapid digital transition geared towards the efficiency, sustainability and accessibility of services. We adopt a circular approach to health that takes account of the link between people and their environment and we promote physical activity with nutrition, as interconnected tools of prevention capable of enhancing well-being.
Our work is divided into various of intervention.
Promoting well-being

The Promoting Well-Being Mission, reporting to the Planet Goal, is committed to addressing the new healthcare challenges: hospitals designed to be more digital, innovative, accessible, integrated and sustainable, the need to recognise new in-patient treatment facilities with a scientific research role (IRCCS) and more advanced healthcare, with a new approach that sees health as being influenced by multiple external factors and therefore transcends the purely biomedical dimension.
Health system innovation
Innovation is an essential pillar for ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of the health system. That is why we support projects that require the adoption of large items of medical equipment and new organisational infrastructure, which offer greater use-intensity, flexibility and sustainability.
To achieve these results, we promote a virtuous circle between the public and private sectors to multiply resources and amplify the positive impact on the health system. One example is our collaboration with Fondazione Vialli e Mauro for new technological equipment for Istituto di Ricerca IRCCS di Candiolo. The Hospeedal experimental initiative has also helped to innovate several Piedmont hospital departments specialising in women’s and children’s health
Technological transition in healthcare
We have therefore transcended the concept of digital transition to look at technology in broader terms. The framework protocol signed with the Region of Piedmont has led to the opening of the city of Turin health authority’s new Head and Neck Cancer Unit.
In collaboration with Fondazione FORMA and Azienda Ospedaliera Città di Torino, we have contributed to equipping the Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital with new devices for latest-generation diagnostics, including a CT scanner, a standard-intensity magnetic resonance imaging scanner and a high-intensity MRI scanner (3 Tesla).
Support for the recognition of new in-patient treatment facilities with a scientific research role (IRCCS)
As part of a broad, long-term vision, we are committed to facilitating the recognition of new in-patient treatment facilities with a scientific research role (IRCCS) in the catchment area. This is an important opportunity to combine first-class scientific research with innovative clinical practice, to create a new platforms for treatment and prevention.
Circular health
We believe in the need to adopt a new approach that links health with a multitude of interconnected external factors that transcend the biomedical dimension.
The impacts of environmental degradation, climate change and nutrition on health are just some of the dimensions that enable us to look at people’s well-being from a fresh angle.
This change in perspective arose during the Covid pandemic, when we tested our ability to intervene promptly and effectively, focusing on the need to consider the interconnection between all dimensions of health.
Promoting healthy lifestyles
Promoting healthy lifestyles
From the point of view of circular health, we also regard health as a complex, multi-faceted phenomenon that reaps particular benefit from the adoption of healthy lifestyles.
That is why we are committed to promoting physical and sporting activity and better nutrition education by means of targeted actions in conjunction with the school system.
In conjunction with the Protecting the Environment Mission, reporting to the Planet Goal, we established the Sportivi per Natura (sporty by nature) call for proposals, which highlights the profound connection between health, physical activity, contact with nature and relationships with other people.
In this respect, physical and sporting activity has an impact on people’s physical and mental health, partly by triggering the preventive mechanism of adopting lifestyles that reduce the incidence of chronic diseases.
