From Vesuvio to the Alps. Giorgio Sommer's photos
The exhibition is at the Museo della Montagna, wich is a national and international reference point, highly relevant from a cultural, historical and archival point of view in connection to the mountain. Its development is on-going and dynamic, concentrating particularly on increasing, saving and making it easier to use the documentary heritage.
In particular, this moving exhibition focuses on the highly interesting photographic fund of the German/Italian photographer Giorgio Sommer, who was one of the most famous and prolific of the XIX century. The fund is made up of over 80 original prints of various Italian and Swiss cities and places, from the Alps to the Vesuvius.
