From 15th to 17th July 2016, “Torino e le Alpi” proposes the third edition of the Festival “Torino e le Alpi” taking place in Turin and several mountain towns in Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d’Aosta.
The festival allows people who love a dynamic and vivacious mountain that can express contemporary culture, stimulate creativity and offer an outlook on high lands unlike the usual stereotypes and rhetoric, to go to concerts and shows, meet writers and important mountain people, visit exhibitions and take part in workshops and creative labs.
Turin will offer the public a rich calendar of events from Fondazione Merz, which will host an exhibition of young artists, live shows and labs, and the hill, the setting for workshops and walks in nature for adults and children. The valleys of Piedmont, Val d’Aosta and Liguria will come alive with a multitude of cultural initiatives such as concerts, excursions and creative marathons in nature, in mountain retreats and certain forts that are symbol of the Alps, selected after a call promoted by the foundation at the beginning of the year.
A festival in various areas and built around multiple artistic forms, covering different territories to bring together the city and the mountain – Turin with its Alpine range – and consolidate the networks of institutions and parties that can make our mountains the centre of quality culture and attract a broad and varied public.
