Restoration works is presented on 16th March at 3pm at Museo Diocesano, Genoa (via Tommaso Reggio, 20).
The Oratory of Saints Nazarius and Celsus is at the beginning of Monte Oliveto hill, overlooking Via Antica Romana of Pegli. It is a simple gabled building with a single nave and small square apse facing southeast.
The restoration project was divided into functional phases. The biggest issue concerned the surfaces of the walls and vaults, which were in varying states of decay. The damage caused some of the plaster to cave in and bulge.
The first part of the works carried out in the Oratory of Saints Nazarius and Celsus is presented to the press on 16th March at 3pm. Roberto Timossi is taking part on behalf of Compagnia di San Paolo.
