The 2018/2019 season of Turin's Teatro Stabile - National Theatre

The programme features 67 shows, including 17 productions (13 new productions and co-productions and 4 video recordings), 32 guest shows and 18 shows scheduled for Torinodanza.

The Teatro Stabile di Torino - National Theatre inaugurates 2018 with a series of important novelties: Valerio Binasco has been appointed Artistic Director of the Theatre, assisted by Fausto Paravidino for research, in the role of resident dramaturg of the theatre, and by Gabriele Vacis as Director of the training course for actors at the TST school.

A turning point for Teatro Stabile di Torino - directed by Filippo Fonsatti and chaired by Lamberto Vallarino Gancia - aimed at consolidating an integrated and complementary relationship between its various functions, such as production, training and research, generating many different views on the cultural and educational needs of our time.

For the 2018/2019 season, 67 shows are scheduled, including 17 productions (13 new productions and co-productions and 4 video recordings), 32 guest shows and 18 shows scheduled for Torinodanza.

The proposals range from the great classics of the repertoire, performed innovatively and unconventionally, to contemporary dramaturgy enhanced both by staging existing texts and by creating new content; there are also shows where prose, dance and music merge to break down the barriers between genres and trigger new works.

A programme focused on enhancing emerging talents, with one eye on the territory but open to international perspectives. A vocation for internationalisation also confirmed by the recent addition of the Teatro Stabile di Torino - the only Italian theatre - to the prestigious Mitos 21 network comprising the most important European theatres (Odéon of Paris, National Theatre of London, Berliner Ensemble of Berlin, Dramaten of Stockholm, Toneelgroep of Amsterdam, Katona of Budapest, Royal Theatre of Copenhagen). Turin’s Stabile is making agreements with all of these for co-planning, coproducing and exchanging programmes for the next three years.
