Science and Society Yearbook. This year is about energy
Torino - 21.02.2012
Which country devotes the most time to teaching technical and scientific subjects? Where are the most researchers? Which country uses the most energy per head and where have greenhouse gases decreased the most? Which measures do people prefer to use to fight against global warming?
The Science and Society Yearbook, which has reached its eighth edition this year, proposes a concise and accessible collection of information and data from the most respected national and international sources, useful in understanding the current state and transformations in research and innovation in our society: human resources and investments, patents and use of new technology, public trends regarding science, a chronology of the main events marking the relationship between science and society in 2011, volumes published on the subject during the years.
This year too, a lot of space has been given over to more recent tendencies in the relationship between science, media and public opinion. “Italians, science and the challenge between the environment and energy. Science, technology and public opinion in Italy in 2011”, with new data from the Society, Technology and Science Observatory; “The energy debate in the Italian media”; “Technical/scientific matters and people’s participation” and “Health, citizenship and risk-perception: the case of blood donations and xenotransplantations”.
The 2012 Science and society Yearbook is produced with support from the Compagnia di San Paolo.
