The project of the Citadel of Energy managed by Politecnico di Torino that will host enterprises and research centers has kicked off.
Support energy research, share innovative solutions, attract European, national and private funding, tackle the issue of energy in its multiple aspects, including sustainability and reduced consumption, and stimulate innovation: these are the ambitious objectives of the Energy Center Initiative of the Politecnico di Torino.
The project aims to launch actions and projects that will provide strategic support and advice to local authorities, national and transnational organisations on energy policies and technologies.
The initiative has a twofold value: the Energy Center House (EC-HOUSE) will host enterprises, startups and public administrations active in the field of energy and the Energy Center Lab (EC-LAB), the Interdepartmental Center of the Polytechnic, develops models and scenarios for energy transition and designing more and more interconnected energy technologies and systems.
The Energy Center Initiative is housed in the new building of 5,000 square meters owned by the City of Turin, which has granted the Politecnico a surface right for 89 years and achieved thanks to the contribution of Piedmont Region, Compagnia di San Paolo, which has allocated € 4 million euros and Fondazione Crt, which has allocated € 1 million.
The project was presented on October 25th (14.30) in Via Borsellino, 38/16 in Turin. The Chair Francesco Profumo was present on behalf of Compagnia di San Paolo.
