Welfare Policy
The Compagnia di San Paolo’s Social Policies is aimed at supporting, accompanying and creating new opportunities for improvement for people and families in need, integrating in a few cases the lacking social welfare network, in collaboration with public policy managers, with the beneficiaries of the initiatives, and with the Instrumental bodies, mainly the
Ufficio Pio and the
Fondazione per la Scuola.
Regarding method, Social Policies acts mainly through projects and programs of social innovation, which are long-term by nature and very dynamic. Many are the intervention areas (or fields) that these projects refer to:
- social autonomy paths (to which these projects refer:
Microcredito regionale,
Logos, Approdo,
Dafne,
il Bandolo, Crisi occupazionale); also Programma Housing belongs to this area;
- support to the youth (
Yepp,
Nomis);
- home care system (Tandem);
- public space (
+ spazio + tempo);
- cooperation for development (
Fondazioni 4 Africa, Formazione per lo sviluppo);
- promotion of local philanthropy and of the Community Foundations
Finally, the area dealing with
Voluntary Work, in which the Compagnia is committed to qualifying the activity of Special
Funds for Voluntary Work – to which it contributes together with the other foundations of banking origin – and proceeding with the Progetto Sud, in the context of the protocol of agreement between ACRI and Forum of the Third Sector/Voluntary Work, in whose context the Fondazione per il Sud was set up, established by the Compagnia together with other founders.
The afore-mentioned themes do not make up the total range of activities carried out by Social Policies, which handles and evaluates other initiatives in the fields mentioned above.
Regarding the operational aspect, methods and procedures are also used that select requests based on comparative criteria, such as calls for proposals, guidelines, and similar methods.
