Mobility, instability and competitiveness. Workshop on unconventional funding for research into social sciences
The workshop will be held on Thursday 17th November 2011 from 2pm at the Department of Political Studies at the University of Torino, Via Giolitti 33,1°piano.
Aimed at looking into mobility in research, the meeting has two parts: the first one will address research funding and mobility from complementary prospectives, with scholars and representatives of the world of foundations and research taking part. The second will see the presentation of the OMERA Social Sciences project(Osservatorio sulla Mobilità nello Spazio Europeo della Ricerca), an on-line database which collects and makes it possible to consult data on research funding in social sciences within Europe and aimed at individuals and groups. The potential users will be invited to experiment the structure and contents of the database and to discuss its potentials and limits.
OMERASocial sciences is a Twai project (Torino World Affairs Institute) with a Department of political studies and Centro Einaudi. Twai’s activites are supported by the Compagnia, who also contributes to those of the Centro Einaudi and which has a long-term agreement with the University of Torino.
